• Hidden Singles: When scanning a row, column, or box for a specific number (e.g. looking for where 7 can go), you may find that only one cell can legally accept it, even if that cell has other candidate notes.
• Pencil Mark Hygiene: When you place a definitive number in a cell, immediately erase that number from all candidate notes in the intersecting row, column, and 3×3 sub-grid to keep your working memory uncluttered.
